I have a HP Pavilion laptop (ab221tx) that's presently running on windows 10 x64 v1511 enterprise build.

My wifi chipset is a realtek 8723BE. I am facing this known & frequently asked issue where wifi disconnects upon closing the lid & it automatically reconnects the moment I reopen the lid.

I googled a lot but was unable to figure out if it's an OS issue/os build issue/setting issue.

I have tried multiple things like
*reintalling the driver from oem site & also updating it
*disabling power saving options of the wifi adapter".
*tweaking advanced settings in power plans

but nothing seems to have been of any help. Is there any available fix for this issue or will my laptop have to stay with this bug forever?

Solution
Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that hopefully you haven't done yet. :)
- Open Device Manager and right click on the Wifi Adapter then click Properties.
- Click on Power Management tab and remove the check on "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" then click OK.
- Next to try is to open Power Option again.
- Click on "Change plan settings" then "Change advanced power settings".
- Expand Wireless Adapter Settings then set Power Saving Mode on battery and and plugged in both on Maximum Performance.
- Click Apply and OK then test it again.
