Running record player through LG 4k TV

Hi, I have an LG 49UB8500 and I am trying to get to run my record player through it to broadcast off the TV speakers. I have a pre-amp and have successfully connected it to my TV and it WILL play for about 20 minutes and then the TV shuts off because (I believe) it does not see a video signal and thinks the TV is just ideal. Is there a work around or a way for the TV to recognize an audio-only input without simply turning off the ideal-shutoff function?

Unfortunately, the online user's manual isn't much help. I don't own your TV so I tried to see if there was a way to extend the auto shut-off but it seems that the actual detailed manual is software inside the TV. Maybe there is a way to extend the time it takes to shut off?

If you have an old VCR laying around try running the video cable only to the video input and the audio from your preamp to the connections. Maybe if it sees the signal from the VCR, it won't shut down.

You can trick the TV by using one of your video sources that has two video outputs (composite video and HDMI would be likely) and connect the yellow RCA cable to the same input you use for audio.
Listening to vinyl through horrible TV speakers is not a scenario that TV makers are concerned about. Get some decent powered speakers.
