Ok, so I'm wanting to get an amp for my car subwoofer but i'm going to be running in on a 100 watt kenwood receiver and I want to know how I can run a car subwoofer kicker 500 watt 4 ohms to a amp then to the receiver.. I have no pre out or amp out so I can't do it that way, I do have an converter that goes from rca to speaker wire and I'm thinking I can hook up it up straight to the red and black channel hole thing on my receiver, but I want to be sure before I go on a spending spree

Solution
Receiver> adapter Speaker to RCA (this is a special adapter, not just an audio cable)> Electronic crossover> (Low out) >sub woofer amp (Kicker)>Sub Woofer

However you are much better off using a receiver with preamp RCA outputs, instead of the adapter.
Adapter = more distortion
