I'm trying to recover data off a emachines t3995 after a capacitor blow out, I hooked up the old hard drive (WD Caviar, WD800) to my big rig though a ide/sata controller card only to find a 3gb partition filled with PC Angel recovery software ,after further analysis of the software I've found that somehow this software blocks bios and even the most rudimentary of windows access to the larger partition that contains my files.I then proceed to unhook my own hard rives to try and boot off of the emachines one ,I got about 3seconds into the boot before I got a windows xp bsod about booting off a different platform (was installed though a different controller). My question is: Is there anyway to break though the pc angel and remove the bios locking mechanisms keeping my pc from reading the other partition; or is there anyway to boot off the hd into a virtual machine in order to gain access.Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
