Suround sound question

Hi. Sorry for my ignorance in this area, hoping someone can help me!
In my kitchen, the previous owner installed 6 speakers above the cabinets. 3 are Panasonic (60 watt max for music, 6 OHM), and 3 are bose (75 watt max, 6 OHM). I need a new receiver and one of my cheaper options is a used Samsung HT-TX52 , which is apparently rated at 1000W/. Will that kill my speakers? If it matters, I think the guy installed them all connected one to another, so I d only be using one output on the receiver. Again, sorry for my ignorance, and thanx alot if you can help!

My suggestion is to take the time and trace out/diagram the wiring. See if the speakers are "connected one to another".... And correctly so however that may apply.

You really need to know what may have been done (knowingly or unknowingly) by someone else behind the scenes with respect to the speakers.

Resolve the wiring now and be sure. Then there is no guesswork as you know specifically what you are working with and what you can do.

A unit like the Samsung doesn't really have anything like that kind of power. Real world you would be lucky if it did 100 watts total so too much power is very very unlikely.
That aside a surround sound unit is not really designed for playing music the way you want in a kitchen but you could connect 5 of the speakers to the front, rear, and center speaker outputs. You do have to go through the setup to tell the unit that there is no sub and to set the speaker levels correctly. Set the surround mode and dsp/eq to your liking. If there is a setting for all speaker stereo that would be best.
