hi i have Sony blue ray bdps3500 and Samsung LCD ln-t-4053h. blue ray has orange plug for coaxial digital audio-the TV has a digital audio out optical plug looks like a house.what wire can be used to connect these too for audio sound.Sony drops audio sound and is hooked up by HDMI right now-but have had problems before and replace that numerous times-have to have TV hooked up with red and white.and the sound works great now.the sound on the blue ray will also drop when watch a disc.i do not have anything else hookup to the TV-no soundbar or extra speakers.

Solution
There is no way to use HDMI for video and the digital audio out for audio (since HDMI is meant to carry both)
unless the TV has an input that is set up to use DVI (either a DVi input or HDMI input designated for DVI). Then there will be an analog audio input available.
Since you don't have analog out on the BD player you would have to buy a DAC to convert.
Makes more sense to try a different cable, get the player replaced under warranty or buy a different player.
