Pinnacle Studio does not recognize SP2 in XP Home Edition

First off, I know Windows XP is out of date so please don’t bring that up. That is not the problem.

I had to reinstall my Windows XP Home Edition on a new Mother Board. I used an extra Windows XP SP2 CD which had I never used. Then I installed SP3. I then loaded all of my programs including Pinnacle Studio Plus v 9.4. However, Studio Plus will not complete a DVD. It worked fine before I had problems with the previous MB but now, after going through the whole rendering and compiling functions it simply says Failed to Compile Disc.

Ok, so, I have had an update CD to update to Studio Plus v11 but had never used it. I thought perhaps if I run the update CD it will solve the problem but when I try to run the v11 update it says I need to update to SP2 for Windows XP. As I have said, I used an XP SP2 CD to install Windows and then I updated to SP3 before I even began to reinstall my programs.

I contacted Pinnacle but they have been taken over by Corel and they are not able to help with anything older than Studio Plus v16. I think it’s an intelligence problem.

Can anyone offer any assistance?

Hello Alabalcho
There wasn't anything wrong with my install of SP3 for XP. After I wrote about my problem I did a little searching and found a workaround provided by Pinnacle. They instruct the user to copy the entire Studio 11 CD to a folder and then download a small program titled "WelcomeSP3.exe" installed in the root directory of Studio 11. Once installed in the root directory I simply double click on "WelcomeSP3.exe" and Studio 11 Update installs from the HD.
