Hey guys, just bought a new car that came with a stereo with an interesting port that i can't seem to find anything about.
When i plug JUST an aux cable in half the channels aren't there but when i use the provided adapter everything is fine. I can't use the provided adapter for my phone since it uses micro usb (Samsung S6).
Any help/advice would be great,
Cheers.

The AUX tip is four conductor. Probably not mapping to your aux cable (half the channels result).

Google "four conductor 3.5mm USB" or some similar grouping of words. You may be able to find the pinouts.....

You should also be able to find an adapter (USB to micro usb) that will permit use of the phone.

E.g.,:

http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=usb+microusb+adapter&tag=mh0b-20&index=aps&hvadid=3527221254&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_9nct6dirgw_e

Be sure to check that the adapter has the appropriate gender connector on each end.

The overall question being if there is something proprietary about the provided adapter.
