the sound on my computer wants to play out of my graphics card -> hdmi, and thats connected to my monitor asus vx238h-w monitor with built in sound. and doesn't want to play from the 3.5mm green jack from the mobo

how do i make it so that the audio output is to the 3.5mm jack from my motherboard and not the HDMI?

yes i have tried the "playback" tab and disabling the monitor sound, and putting the speaker to default, but nothing happened.

ive tried removing the hdmi/asus monitor with speaker. and played around with settings with just the 3.5mm jack plugged in, but it still doesnt want to play from it.

Solution
You can disable any devices you want with the audio settings in Windows. You may be missing drivers for the integrated audio to work properly. Make sure you have the latest sound drivers.

Solution
1) make sure onboard audio is enabled in the motherboard BIOS
2) Install or reinstall Realtek software if applicable (unless you have SupremeFX, sound card or other)->
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

3) Test speakers or headphones on hardware that works (and confirm the speaker WIRE from PC works... maybe just run an iPod or similar from the 3.5mm end that plugs into the GREEN PC output)
4) Ensure VOLUME on speakers, and on Windows is high enough

5) Test FRONT CASE if possible.

If none of this works, perhaps your onboard audio is broken.
