HP Pavilion DV 4000 upgrade? Help please!

I have an HP Pavilion dv4000 with XP, but that's ok because I don't use it for internet. I do want to upgrade the memory, it only has 0.99 GB Ram. Can I do this? What do I ask for?

Hi, your laptop have a maximum of 2GB for the memory, you must verify if you have one RAM of 1GB or two of 512MB. If you have two 512MB, you need to purchase two 1GB for the 2GB maximum.

I checked in my computer/properties and it said RAM=0.99 GB, but should we unscrew the memory on bottom of laptop and look see?

Yes, you have three screws to take off before removing the memory cover. You will see if you have one or two RAMs installed.
