I have an HP 15-r014TX Laptop (the model no. is valid for India, I don't know the International no.).
It's out of warranty, and was facing an issue that caused it to keep powering down. The HP service guys couldn't find the solution, but I took it apart, and removed the DVD drive, and reinserted it live, which seemed to fix the problem.

However, the lappie now has a problem with the display flickering on and off. Not flickering lines, the entire display goes black, and I've noticed that the wifi light on my keyboard goes off as well, and then, mere milliseconds later, it comes back on. It's not a driver issue, cause I checked every driver thrice, and reinstalled everything. The issue mostly occurs when placing my hand over a part of the body, or if the laptop is placed on an irregular/bumpy/slightly uneven surface, e.g. my bed.

This leads me to suspect a display cable issue. I've opened and checked the cable and it's connections several times. The cable integrity is fine, and the connectors seem set properly. The problem doesn't occur when I'm holding the lid, only the body, and it appears more consistently when I hold it near the hinges. It also appears as though any shear force or twisting force on the body of the laptop, when it's placed on my lap or some such similar position, causes the issue.

Any help in diagnosing would be greatly appreciated. I can't seem to find the cause. HALP. :(

Solution
then check if panel is weel seated in the laptop case and do the same for the motherboard could be a mater of ground somewhere between those 2 parts .

I've checked the integrity of the cable. There's no cut or grounding. I even tried using insualting tape at places where the cable might be touching, it never made a difference. Also, the case isn't metal, and the cable does not pass over/under any metal parts insofar as I can see. Thanks for the help though. I might try insulating the cable again.
