still have no DVD Rom on 7551-7422 all fixes are a no go

Hi,
Please do try these troubleshooting steps suggested by HP which apply to almost all laptop brands. If all these steps will not work I would suggest reinstalling Windows and if it will still not work your last option would be to replace the DVD drive.

It doesn't show up under DVD but up under other devices with the name of the dvd rom optiarc DVD RW AD 7555H
