Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First to try is to make sure that the power button is set to completely shut the laptop down, not to hibernate or sleep.
- Right click on the battery icon the bottom right had corner and select Power Options.
- On the left pane of Power Options click on "Choose what the power buttons do".
- Make sure to set "When I press the power button" to "Shut down" from the drop down menu then click Save Changes.
- If the same problem will persist I would suggest disconnecting the laptop off its AC adapter if you won't be using the laptop for more than an hour or two.
