Acer laptop wont go on! Pease help!

I have an acer v3-531, I just recently been given the laptop from my mum who used it for a year. It had loads of programs on it that would always reappear after I had deleted them and would pop up all the time when i was playing games etc. So a week ago I restored it to its factory settings and it was working great then today i went to switch it on and it wont go on!!!! The blue lights up on the power button and stays on but the screen stays black and there is no noise of a fan etc. I tried it with a different battery from my boyfriends laptop and it still does not work (both batteries worked great on my boyfriends laptop) Anyone know if or how i can fix this!?

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the power cord then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- If it will not work proceed with reseating the RAM's, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly.
- Next is to try a different AC adapter as well with has the same voltage and see if the same problem will persist or not.
- If you can hear the fans of your laptop running, try connecting an external monitor and see if you'll get a display from it or not.
- If all these will not work unfortunately the problem is the motherboard.
