While playing games, my laptop sometimes just slows down to a crawl. Like I'll be getting 60 FPS for the first ten minutes of playing, and then out of nowhere it'll drop down to around 1 FPS for like 30 seconds, and then it'll be fine again. This obviously is pretty annoying. It also happens with every single game, it does not matter if it is an old 90's RPG or Bioshock 2. I'm running Windows 10. I am sure that it is not an antivirus program causing this, and I have switched between my Nivida card and the integrated card and nothing changed.

My first thoughts on this are that it could either be a driver issue or the laptop is overheating during gameplay.

Using software like HWMonitor, what are the temperature readings of your CPU and GPU while you are gaming?

It lags on both of my GPU's so what driver do you think would be responsible? I'll download that and give it a shot.

Okay I gave it a shot. After playing for a few minutes and lagging out three separate times, my cores highest recorded temperatures were at 89, 78, 72, and 68 degrees celsius. Are those temperatures too hot?

I don't think so as it happens even with 2d games from the 90's. What is also weird is that sometimes it seems like it just goes away. I just played Arma 2, which is a very big resource hog, for like half an hour with no issues.
