There are no "gaming" laptops in that price range, the ASUS has a 920m video card which is too slow for games. In your price range the ASUS is as good as anything else.
A laptop with a 960m video card can be talked about as being for games, 940m at the least if you are OK with slower game play at low settings and lower resolutions.
