So luckily I havn't bought a new CPU yet, Im trying to upgrade my laptop, though I can not get the CPU out without damaging it, as it is stuck in with a clearish glue or something. Anyone know how I can remove it?

Ok probably that.. There is a latch above it, though no screws anywhere else.. I have only built one PC and it was a desktop obviously and Im rather new to modify laptops..

If you post the laptop model or what CPU it is, someone could potentially tell you with more certainty whether it can be upgraded. As I said, I was simply making an educated guess with my last post.

Ok, a quick search of that laptop tells me it has an i7 3517U CPU. That CPU has a BGA (ball grid array) package, which means it's soldered to the motherboard. Sorry, upgrade's a no go.

As I mentioned earlier, very few laptops are designed to be upgrade-able, other than maybe adding/swapping RAM or storage drives.

WEll it would appear that I have a differn't model than what you found.. It has an intel pentium... Either way I have read that the material they used (the clear thing) requires some decent quality IR solder rework station or something like that.. And it requires experience to do... I probably got the name wrong but..
