I have a HP Pavilion G6 laptop. Recently, I got my motherboard replaced. I ran the CPU-Z application and found that the vendor had replaced my motherboard with the original one, just the version is different (HP 183E 56.32 to HP 183E 56.16). Now, the problem is that this new motherboard is having issues with my 4GB RAM and wont run. However, it works fine with 2GB RAM. Is this a software or a hardware problem and is there any way in which I can get this problem sorted on my own?
PS: I tried searching on the motherboard specifications but could not find anything. MOBO details-
Manufacturer-HP
Model- 183E 56.16
Chipset-Intel Ivy Bridge Rev.=09
Southbridge- Intel HM76 Rev.=04

Hi
Thank you for your reply. I had already seen this manual but could not get much help. I am currently unsure about the motherboard specifications in my laptop. Note that I had changed my motherboard from a vendor. The new motherboard does not support the original 4 GB RAM which came with my laptop. (my RAM is in fully working condition-i checked it on an identical laptop). I want to understand if there is any way in which I can get back 4GB memory. Please help....
