Replace my Laptop DVD Drive with USB 3.0 Ports

My laptop has a dvd drive i never used for 3 years now could i make this into extra usb ports instead of using the dvd drive?

Hi,

Not 100% sure because I haven't heard of one yet. You can connect a HDD caddy so you can use that space for another SSD or HDD using this device.

If you can find like an enclosure for a USB port that will be connected to a SATA port that would work but you need to find specific part that will fit in the DVD drive space.

ok that could work but how would to drivers work should i getto rig my dvd drive and just place a converter? if i can would hot plunging force shut down my pc or just act like a usb? i have 2 choices buy a whole new broad $100 usd with add benefit of 2 extra ram slots just getto rig this.. 3rd option just buy a $15 intel wifi card with built in Bluetooth.
