I turn on my compac laptop to find I have a blank screen can anyone tell me why or help me please
I have turned my laptop on but only got a blank screen why can anyone help me please

Why it happens varies. Is your screen completely dark? Or is the screen backlight showing (just no picture)?
No backlight = possibly a bad screen, a loose/faulty video cable, or possibly a problem with the display adapter.
Backlight (no picture) = Hardware is probably fine, but there is an issue rendering an image. This is often a software issue (maybe a GPU driver problem).

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and old the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again.
- If this will not work proceed with reseating the RAM's, remove them all for couple of seconds then place them back in making sure everything is seated properly.
- If the laptop is on but there's still no display on the screen, connect an external monitor on it and see if you'll get any display from it.
- Do also try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if it will boot up normally.
- If all these will not work the problem lies in the motherboard and if it's still under the factory warranty do contact the manufacturer for a repair/
