If you have windows 7:

Boot up your system and go to Device Manager
Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s ok if you only have 1).
Reboot

see if that works.

Oky when the battery is out there is no power to the board. The ac power is connected but it does not power on. please read the forum before you post stupid stuff

There are several models in the 2000 series, are you sure it's just a 2000 and not a more specific number like 2135r?

Without the battery, verify if you have the power on both side of Q6011.

No need to be rude here, you posted this looking for help. I never said to power up without the battery.

From your post, your system wont power on without a battery, but will power on plugged into the adapter with the battery in.
If that's the case try my solution.
If it wont power at all no matter what you do with the battery and power supply you should have stated that in your post.
You should also check the amperage on the two power supplies. HP uses the same plug on various models and their amperage can vary from 4.5 to 9.5 amps.

his morning I tested the board again and the following chips are dead in both sides

Q6611 and Q6621

this problem usually comes when the battery goes dead and doesn't charge
best is to replace the battery
the ac cable is its only power source that is wyh ti only works with the power cable on

when the battery is out and only the power cord is in then the laptop does not power on. there is no power when connected to the ac adapter
