Dell E5440 / Dell E Port replicator / 3 Monitors

Will this work together? I need three monitor in my office but also need to have a laptop for travel.
I have a 24” Asus for most of my work, a 24” Dell that does portrait for long PDFs, and i have a 42“ Samsung HDTV 1080p that I want to use for Blueprints.

This article says it will but I'm not completely sure.

I'm open to other option as long as it is a laptop. But this doesn't seem a bad price for a PC that is strictly used for work. I'd be willing to buy online or even slightly used on eBay to save money as I am paying out of pocket.

Yes it will work. Your laptop is listed in the Compatible Hardware listed on the Spec tab/page on the link your gave. So no worries..

Dell says these will work too. Is one better then my pick in the same price range. Also willing to look at none dell laptops if someone has a suggestion

I also don't need a cd drive. And the smaller and lighter the better when I'm in the field. But the 3 monitors are a must in my office

Ebay sometimes has them for a good deal. Just make sure to buy from someone with a good rating and good feedback. My dad actually has this exact laptop for work and he loves it. He has the dock at work in his office and just pops it in and has the full desktop experience without having to plug any cables in. It is way better for him as he has to take the laptop with him everywhere so he can monitor paper making machinery and all sorts of stuff all the time and can do everything he can at work anywhere there is internet.

How about the Dell E7450???

I found one that for cheaper the the new e5440.

Will it also work with 3 monitors? It's on the list. I'm just don't want to pay all this money and it doesn't work.

It is an decent laptop but hard telling exactly because there are many options for it so there are different cpu, ram, display, and storage configs that make a big difference. Yes that dock should work with it as well. And it should be able to be used with 3 monitors as well as all cpus that the laptop comes with have the GPU that is needed for it to work.
