Alright, I have a 5-year old acer aspire 5349, and recently it's been having trouble connecting to any wifi. I've tried connecting to 4 different routers in 4 different houses and nothing works. My phone connected to them just fine with full bars and no problems, so it's not the routers, it's my laptop. Even if I'm within 3 feet of the router, my laptop will still only display 3 bars and refuses to connect to that 3 bars. Sometimes it does, but even then the connection only lasts about a minute. I've tried re-installing the drivers, troubleshooting, disabling and enabling them, changing the channel to 9 and 11, and switching the speed & duplex to 10mbps full duplex. I'll be going off to college soon, and I just need to know if this piece of junk is salvageable or if I scrap it. Any feedback whatsoever would help immensely, thanks!!!!

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by running Windows Update and install all the updates available.
- If it doesn't work proceed with uninstalling/reinstalling the Wifi Adapter.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Wireless Adapter.
- Next is using a different PC download the latest driver from ACER Support site.
- Here's the link: http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Bluetooth/Bluetooth_Atheros_8.0.0.210_W8x64UW8x86U_A.zip?acerid=634861247025882861&Step1=NOTEBOOK&Step2=ASPIRE&Step3=ASPIRE%205349&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6
- Store it into a USB driver then install it onto your laptop having problem.
- Reboot the laptop once the latest driver has been installed then test it again.
- If all these will not work unfortunately your left with doing a complete Factory Reset.
