I want to set up my stereo system as multi-channel. I've done this before but there is an issue.

My one larger speaker (cerwin vega at-8) has foam missing in the ring so obviously only one of the two can be used.. Is there any way to set up the one good at-8 as a rear channel all by itself?

If you have a stereo system and not a surround sound system you can't use any speakers are rear. You could run four speakers but the "rears" would be the same as the "fronts". So if you just want more sound connect the single AT-8 as either left or right.
If you do have a surround system then you could connect the one speaker you have as either the left or right surround speaker but there is no option to set up surround speakers as a single speaker in any surround system I know of. In a 6.1 system there can be one rear surround channel but you need a pair of speakers for the side surrounds.
Your CV woofer can be repaired. Contact Bill at millersound.com for an expert repair at a fair price. There are kits available but most people end up screwing it up and making the repair more expensive.

It is surround sound. It's an older Yamaha AVC 30U.

Also I have foam on the way for both speakers but it'll be a while.
