here is the driver page for that laptop. under "network" there is a number of different drivers for different set-ups. you will need to figure out which network chip you have so you can download the right driver package.

type "device manager" into the search bar at the bottom of the start menu and then look and see if anything has a yellow exclamation point in front of it. this is something that needs a driver. it may say right there what the device is so you can look it up. click on the "network adapters" item and it should tell you what network card is installed as well.
one of these should get you to the right driver you should download.
and don't worry about being new to this. we're old pros and will eventually drag the right info out of you
often there is a bit of an interview type process where we try to get all the info we may need. it's so much easier sitting in front of the laptop but over time you learn how to ask the right questions.
