Well, I've been from one side of the internet to the other and can't find a solution or any downloadable resources on this. There have been forum threads and links to drivers, but they have since disappeared and cannot be found.

I have a Gateway P-7811FX gaming laptop and am using WinXP on it. From what I have researched, it's a bit of an ordeal to get the sound working on this with XP.
I don't know what exactly the sound hardware is...

"High Definition Audio Bus"..
"UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio"..
ConexantHDAudio for XP..

Idk.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

Thank you.

Thanks for reporting a post CastlBravo but you've had the best advice in the circumstances. I agree with both posters - it really is time to give up on XP as it's clear that your sound system just wasn't designed to run on it.

The solution, really, is to move to a more modern operating system like Windows 7.
By continuing with XP you are compromising your performance as well as the security of your system. You are also much more likely to find drivers for your sound system.
Having said that, from what I can find, that system uses Intel HD Audio.
