HP Sleekbook 15 eGPU, can it be done?

Hi all,

I've been a ghost on this forum for some time now reading very interesting topics. I figured it was time to join the discussion by starting one of my own.

I have HP Sleekbook 15 and am interested in converting it into a desktop. I would like to know if anyone has had any luck using this laptop with an external GPU using this external PCI-E module [http

/www.amazon.com/Laptop-External-PCI-E-Graphics-Card/dp/B00Q4VMLF6]. Would I run into problems with my BIOS not accepting this setup? Also, is there a spare mini-PCI slot under the motherboard? I have taken apart this laptop before for a fan clean but do not remember seeing a mPCI slot on top of the motherboard, is it located underneath the board?

Hi,

Yes eGPU should work with most laptops specially if they have a mPIC-e with your laptop does have but is being used by the wireless adapter. So if you're planning on using a eGPU set up that means you'll have to sacrifice on loosing your wireless capability.

Thank you for the quick response! I am aware that the wireless card will have to be sacrificed but I already have a solution by getting a usb wireless adapter. I guess all that remains to be answered is if anyone has actually done this with an HP Sleekbook 15 and has had success. My only concern is the BIOS not accepting the PCI-E module on startup.

How did it end up working out im debating doing this to mine im using it as a tv laptop but i only have 720p rn.
