I have a asus k50il laptop and my screen went black. I changed the screen and cable and still nothing.

Solution
Hi,

Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- First is to connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it.
- If you'll get a display using an external monitor that could also mean that it's a motherboard problem since you've already tried replacing the ribbon cable and the LCD.
- If you won't get any display from the external display continue with reseating the RAM, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly.
- Do also try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if it will boot up or not.
- If all these will not work then the problem would be the motherboard.
