I had my laptop running Windows 10 on low power settings through the Windows Power option. I shut it down, and now the laptop doesn't start when I press the power button.

I had removed the battery and unplugged the power cord for static discharge. When I plug in the charger or the battery, the laptop automatically starts itself with a blank screen and no indicators work. The hard drive works for 2 seconds before shutting down and the fan works for 10 seconds. It makes 4 beeps through this stage. I pressed the power button after the shut down process and it still won't start. Please help.

P.S.
None of the indicators work throughout all of this troubleshooting, even the charging battery LED does not work even though the battery was low when I had shut the laptop down.

Hi,

Please try these troubleshooting steps. They may help.

- Start with a hard reboot: remove the battery, unplug it's AC adapter, and then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it.

- If this doesn't work re-seat the RAM. Remove the RAM sticks for a couple of seconds then re-insert them, making sure everything is seated properly.

- If this does not work and you can hear the laptop is on, but there is no graphics on the display, connect your laptop to an external monitor and see if it will display anything. If the external monitor displays your laptop's graphics your laptop screen may be faulty.

- The next thing to try is to see if your AC adapter is working properly. You can test this by trying another AC...

- The next thing to try is to see if your AC adapter is working properly. You can test this by trying another AC adapter that has the same voltage.

- If all these will not work it could be a motherboard problem. At this point I would recommend to bring your laptop in for service and repair.
