I recently bought an ASUS E403 and almost every time i start it up I receive the CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error. I've searched the internet but I just cant fix it! Any suggestions? It doesn't seem like this ASUS is going too well so far.

Solution
This is a simple BSOD error. you can fix this error by checking the bellow solution.

#CHECK AND FIX FAULTY DRIVER

#INSTALL LATEST CHIPSET AND HARDWARE DRIVERS

#SCAN BY COMMAND PROMPT to type sfc /scannow

Mainly corrupted or faulty driver create this error so find out the faulty driver and then uninstall the driver and then reinstall the updated drivers..

If you add any latest hardware after showing the error then that is the possible reasons, so detach the hardware and check the error.

You can scan your Windows 10 by command prompt by the code. "sfc /scannow"

I hope this will be solve your problem.

If you are not expert in computer then you should know the details process because wrong work may create more problem. So you may...

no solution coming from me, But Whats marked as the correct Answer is absolutely bogus and incorrect! you can not run that command at all when your in a boot loop and can't get to cmd to run it no matter what. FYI don't waste your time.

Now i had to end up selecting to reset my OS with keeping my files so far looking good.

This is a lie. You CAN run command prompt,
Reset computer
Have Windows Disc or USB in
Boot into the media when prompted by pressing any key
Select Options Hit Next
Click Repair your Computer on next screen
Click on the TroubleShoot option
Click on the Advanced Options
Click Command Prompt... and guess what?!?!
OMG YOU JUST LOADED COMMAND PROMPT!!
Whew glad the dyingjedi has absolutely no knowledge of computers, scared me for a minute thought I was crazy having booted into command prompt 100000000 different times. I figured I must of dreamed all of that...... lol

I'm in this CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED boot loop, but wait, there's more:

  • no previous Windows snapshot
impossible to enter safe mode, th PC restarts into blue screen
impossible to sfc/scannow, since Windows is protecting the resources
impossible to chkdsk /x /f /r, since the disk is an NTFS (write operations prevented)
impossible to reinstall Windows 10 from "advanced solutions" either preserving my personal files or not, it fails
impossible to use Toshiba repairing tool to bring the PC back to its initial state

What in the world should I do?

For me, it was simple. I updated the firmware for my Samsung SSD and the problem (and a lot of others) went away. Took a few tries because I kept getting a BSD while downloading the update, but eventually it worked.
