Hello good people :)

First of all sorry if my English sucks, not my native language :D

I bought an Acer Aspire 7739 back in 2011.

Recentley I upgraded my PC so I thought why not do the same with my laptop??

So I'm planning on buying an SSD, 2x4gb of ram and was wondering should I also replace the CPU?

It comes with a i3 370m and I was thinking of putting an i7 in it.
This one: http://ark.intel.com/compare/49020,49666

As you can see they both have the same TDP and almost everything except the i7 is quite faster.

So my question is: is it worth it and will my BIOS "read" the new CPU?

Thank you :)

On paper it should work, however according to asus they only support i3s, so there is a chance that your motherboard won't support the turbo boost of the i7 and in my eyes that is the main benefit of upgrading to an i7.

Update: disregard this, found out your chipset, which supports even QM i7s, meaning it supports turbo boost for sure.
