Hi, i have corsair void and will probably be upgrading to seinheiser hd 598 but i am not sure yet. I will be buying a sound card to get the best sound out of them but i know nothing about how all this work so, to get to the point no budget really i best headset combo with a sound card for gaming for rpgs and some fps but mostly games like far cry, the witcher and horror games so sound quality is all i want really, from bombs falling to branches cracking in the wind, thanks guys

Sorry, internet died on me. Had technicians over from ISP because of scheduled maintenance in the area, said it would take 20 mins, but they had to go pick up another replacement modem an hour away lol. Anyway, back to headphones.
For headphones without a mic, the HD 598s are great in every way, but unfortunately I can't give a personal opinion on them. On the other hand, AKG have been coming out with some amazing headsets this past year. One I would definitely recommend having heard them at a headphone store would be the AKG K550s.
They're very light and comfortable while giving off very clear sound. The only downside is that they're huge headphones and kind of ugly. Not recommended if you have small head :p

I'd still go for the HD...

I personally have the Sennheiser G4me Zeros, they have amazing sound quality and noise cancelling as well as a great mic. I love them. Also comes with a nice case and a jack for standard phone use.
Another option however, which also happens to be sennheiser is the PC 363D Headphones, they have a mic and an open back, which allows for a larger sound stage if you want really good directional sound. GOt voted the best headset of 2015 by a tonne of sites, and reviews are generally great.
Your personal choice really, either way these are both great headsets.

I'd still go for the HD 598s though, great company, good warranty and guaranteed quality. :)
