Hey all so I've been having a problem with my Lenovo Y700 Touch-15ISK laptop since I bought it, sadly I picked up an Open Box one at my local Best Buy and didn't actually notice it until after the return period was up on it. The Speakers start making a low static/hissing sound when I power it on and it seems to be starting before Windows 10 hits the splash screen though its hard to tell since I have an SSD in it and the boot time is insanely fast, disconnecting the internal speakers gets rid of the static so it's definitely coming from them and not another component (I hope). Lenovo is willing to have me send it in for repairs but I replaced the HDD with the SSD it has now as well as doubled its Memory so I don't think it qualifies as under warranty and I can't afford to not have a computer for a couple weeks while they fix it as I need it for my college course. I'm hoping someone might have some tips to maybe fix it or at least help confirm that I just need to order a replacement set of internal speakers.

I've Tried:
-Reinstalling the Audio Drivers as well as rolling back to an older version
-Booting into safe mode
-Checked the Speakers connection to the motherboard
-I've done a full reinstall of Windows 10 only using the Lenovo Supplied Drivers for everything

Laptop Specifications:
-Windows 10
-i7-6700k CPU
-16gb of DDR4
-SanDisk Ultra II SSD
-Nvidia Geforce GTX 960m w/ 4gb GDDR5
-Speakers are made by JBL using a Realtek Audio Driver

This doesn't effect Headphones or other External Audio Devices so I don't think it's the sound card or the driver.

Any insight would be much appreciated, I expect the speakers were messed up by whoever returned the laptop to Best Buy in the first place and they didn't notice the hissing at the store since in a busy area or room with background noise it's not noticeable unless you put your ear near the keyboard

Thank You to those who answer!!

Hi,

I'm afraid the only solution is to replace the internal speaker itself to solve the issue but finding one might be difficult since it's a fairly new laptop. You may need to check with a local Lenovo dealer if they have that part available. Or you can just send it back to Lenovo but with all the original components back in so your warranty won't be voided and they could still repair or replace the part itself.

Hopefully this will help. :)
