I'm looking for a laptop for a friend , shes looking for something for graphic design and editing (she does comic book work) video streaming, and mid-core gaming(mostly indie games on steam) and with good cooling and HDMI. All Under a straight $1000. Any recommendations?

May not be her first choice, but i'm sure she can compromise if it means her laptop not dying on her from overheating, her last one which was ACER had heating problems, i'm sure cooling is not an huge issue in this, but she is a bit mindful about it.

but anyway, thats fine

we've got 2 options

within your budget http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834890015
pros cheaper
ssd- windows and coming book programs will boot up like lightning
hdd- enough space for movies games etc
music seems to be good

cons no info about heating but a laptop cooler is always good
can be a bit loud
no info how much this thing weights.

also a great laptop with the same pros cons as above

except its more expensive and u lose the SSD which hurts imo.
the only pro it gets is the i7 which helps u with multitasking but won't improve frame rates in games.

hope this helped man:)
