Hey everyone,
I got a laptop from work that apparently needed a motherboard, so I bought one from eBay, installed it and it didn't work then assumed the power button wasn't working, replaced that, and still to my surprise, its not working... I'm completely stumped to what it could be... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Stuff I have tried:
Just power supply
Just battery
Removing power and holding button down for 1
Replacing motherboard
Replacing power button

Specs:
HP Elite book 8760w
i5 vPro
500gb HDD
4gb RAM

Solution
Hi,

Here are more troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by trying a different AC adapter that has the same voltage with yours but without its battery.
- Do also test every RAM, take them all out and test them one at a time and each slot as well.
- Next is to connect it onto an external monitor and see if you'll get a display from it.
- If you'll see a display from it that means it's the LCD that has the problem not the motherboard.
- If it will still not work that means it's a bad motherboard.
