I have a brand new toshiba laptop with Windows 10 and a 64 bit processor. It's a bit of a toaster because it's only purpose is To help with school work. I dropped it slightly (no outward damage no screen distortion) and now I get a media disconnected error. Resetting the laptop fixed it for less than 24 hours and subsequent resets have the same effect. What's happening and how do I fix it? I should note I'm not fluent in advanced hardware speak so please explain it to me like I'm 5

So the PC runs, but you just have no internet connection?
WiFi or wired? Is the WiFi still turned on?
Is the ethernet cable plugged in?

There is no error message. It's just I turn it back on after waking up, no internet. I go to ipconfig and it tells me in the CMD prompt that media disconnected.
What's weird is three hours ago I had this problem. But after coming back its gone.

Hi

Internet via network cable or wireless?

Wireless is often on a mini card which could come loose

Network Devices failing to work after comming out of suspend or sleep is often a driver problem

Any new device drivers installed recently ?
Power management settings may help
Eg telling driver not to turn of network device when sleeping

Wifi I don't have/use Ethernet. It detects the various wifi connections, connects to said wifi connections, but doesn't allow actual Internet access.
