I've sunk about 10 hours now into trying to find a laptop. Not just any laptop: the perfect laptop, so far, no dice. I'm about at my wit's end so while I continue searching, I thought I'd ask you fine people if you could point me in the right direction.

Parameters:

No budget
-I mean it: I'm looking to make an investment for 3+ years.

Small size
-Preferably 13-14, but up to 15 if everything else is perfect.

Top quality
-Currently using an HP of terrible build quality that I bought for the nice specs. I regretted it about four months in.

Screen
-No fancy touchscreens/gimmicks, preferably matte, but only requirement is 1920x1080.

Use
-Needs to be able to handle video playback and some light gaming. Let's ballpark it at "can run League of Legends at maxed-out settings." Not looking for overkill, but want to be able to get in a game or two, watch movies/TV in good quality, edit large-scale images, and handle the occasional business graphics program/presentation.

-Dedicated graphics card basically a must, to meet the above criteria. Intel's current HD integrated is not up to the job (I've tried). Currently using an Nvidia GeForce GT 630m and it performs just well enough to do what I need.

Battery life
-Here's a pain point. I don't care if it looks awful, tacky, bulky, etc., I need to be able to go a full day (8 hrs) without stopping and charging. Lenovo has some cool dual-battery stuff going on, but they fail hard on the graphics card bit.

Windows 7
-Another pain point. Can't stand 8, can't stand 10. I'm pretty good with installing Windows 7 on things not intended for it to be installed on, but the hardware can't lock me out. I've run in to some hassles before, but this is a relatively minor concern.

Everything else
-Don't care much about backlit keyboards, though they're nice; no need for webcams; no need for fingerprint readers (actually prefer to NOT have one); don't care about external audio (almost exclusively use headphones); don't care about brand (though not a fan of Toshiba); don't care about trackpad format/style, as long as it's reasonable; would like a CD-drive, but I'm well aware that the world's a-changin'; don't need SD card readers, etc.

And that's about it, think you're up to find something with these insane conditions? In return, I can offer everlasting affection and karma. Thanks in advance!

Solution
The closet thing that meets your needs would be the Dell XPS 15. It is basically a 15.6" laptop that is the size of an average 14" laptop and it starts out at 3.9lbs. The Infinity Display has very narrow a bezel and it uses carbon fiber it save weight. It comes with a quad core i5-6300HQ CPU and a nVidia GTX 960m GPU. It starts out at $1,199. But that is not the model that you want if you are shooting for 8 hours.

I recommend you look at the $1,779 model. The CPU is upgraded to an i7-6700HQ, RAM is increased from 8GB to 16GB, and the 1TB HDD is replaced with a 512GB SDD. Lastly this model has a 84WHr battery instead of the normal 56WHr battery. It still has the same 1080p screen as the $1,199 version.

The below linked review is for the $1,199 version (56WHr battery). During their web surfing test using wifi the laptop lasted 5.5 hours, while playing back H.264 movie the laptop lasted 6 hours. If you are doing work in spreadsheets, then about 8 hours seems achievable. The higher end versions with the 84WHr battery would likely add another 2 hours.

I have read some user posts in a Reddit that doing a clean install of Win 10 can provide 1 maybe 2 hours better battery life (based on whatever they do). But not everyone who did a clean install noticed better battery life.

And here comes the pain...

Dell will not have Windows 7 drivers for the laptop because Win 7 is not an option for the laptop. Sure, you can install Windows 7 on the laptop but certain feature may not work like Bluetooth and WiFi (among others). But at least there are little USB devices for them if you do not mind give up use of 1 or 2 USB ports.

Windows 7 are currently being offered only in business laptops.
