My 42 inch 720 lg tv has no picture or sound. It is older but has been a good tv. Any suggestions on resets or quick fixes?

My 42 inch 720 lg tv has no picture or sound. It is older but has been a good tv. Any suggestions for a reset or quick fix?

In general the power supply boards are a common failure mode in TVs. The capacitors are usually rated at 85 degrees instead of 105 degrees. If they are bad you can usually tell since they tend to look blown out or leaky. You can get a new ps board or try repairing it if you have soldering skills.
