Hello,

I've just recently got my Lenovo Y700 and I'm trying to install windows on it, as it came with free DOS. The problem I'm facing is - my computer refuses to boot with the USB plugged in, it loads till the "Lenovo" sign and then idles for 10~15 seconds and restarts itself. Without the USB I can open the boot manager with F12 or let it load the freeDOS.

I've already tried booting the USB on my stationary computer and it works fine. I'm using a 3.7gb USB, formatted as a FAT32.

I'll try using another USB as soon as I can get my hands on one, in the meantime I'm waiting for any and all suggestions.

How exactly do I do that?

Once I press F12 I get the boot manager with the choices:

    SATA HDD: WDC
    Network Boot: Realtek

EDIT: I've entered BIOS (felling kinda stupid, cause it was F2)

I can see USB legacy: Enable in the configurations tab, aswell as Boot Mode: Legacy support on Boot tab

Cannot find Security boot option, might "Intel platform trust technology" be the same option?

I've attached screen shots with the options available to me, I can change boot prioraty to legacy boot first, but that does not help.

No Secure boot option is visible in the bios menu.

My apologies, I seem to added 1 screen badly... NOW UPDATED

I've tried to change "Boot prioraty" to "legacy first" and an option called "OS optimized defaults" with disabled, as it states "when load defaults values, will load legacy support mode default values".

No luck with this either

EDIT: I changed the Boot mode to UEFI and saw the Security boot option already disabled, furthermore changing to UEFI mode stops showing my HDD and the network boot in Boot manager

It was already set to Legacy support when I unboxed it.

For boot priority I can choose either UEIF first or Legacy first, both options do not change the outcome of my laptop idling on the Lenovo sign and restarting after a short while (only when the USB with the windows install is plugged in the computer)

I've tried a better USB drive and it worked, don't know if it was because I used the NTFS format or not.

Now all I need are the drivers to install the windows, which is another thing I didn't think about...
