So i have bought the dt 770 pro 80 ohm, and i am willing to spend money on an amplifier.

I was thinking about buying the fiio e12, but is there another, perhaps better amp, around that pricepoint?

And btw how much will the audio quality improve with an amp?

For portable use you might want to consider the CmoyBB, only $60.

Another option for home use would be the Monoprice DAC+AMP for $100. The combo could be useful if your onboard dac isn't the greatest and you notice audible noise/interference. Usually the case with old or low end hardware.

An amp will drive the headphones louder. Do not expect a major difference in audio quality. A large factor affecting sound quality is the damping factor, your source should have an output impedance < 1/8 of your headphone impedance. In this case <10 ohms. May I ask what you are plugging them into?

For $100 the Schiit Magni 2 is a great option but isn't portable.

Still being shipped, and to clarify: i will not buy an amp if i dont have to, but ppl on this forum told me to expect, the volume to be low.
Therefore they advised me to buy an amp.
