Microphone stops working a few seconds after headset is plugged in

I have been using the Turtle Beach P11 for 18 months now, But suddenly the microphone has been acting weird. Most of the time it just doesnt work at all, but when I unplug and plug the headset back in I can usually get one 3 second recording of myself using voice recorder on windows and then it just stops working, Both the headphones and the microphone are picked up by windows and are set as the default device.

Try reinstalling any installed software related to it (utilities, drivers).

Then first try re installing them.

IF the problem persists just uninstall everything again and just use windows default ones. Thats what I use for all my devices but my mouse and keyboard.

This headset doesnt have any utility software or driver that you have to download. I tried uninstalling the driver through device manager but that didnt do anything for me.

Are you sure its not broken? Its pretty old and the connections on the inside may have come loose.

Other than that i have no other solutions sorry. ;(

The headset could be broken but this problem just seems too odd to be hardware sided. Ill give it a try on a different machine and if that fails i guess its time to get a new pair.
