you will not find anything labeled as "best" for only $50 but there are certainly decent options available.
if you like boomy sound and generally good value the logitech z323 is worth looking into. likewise, creative generally has decent speakers you might want to consider.
if you can live without a subwoofer and had a budget more like $70-75 you could get into some $50/pair bookshelves and a $25 t-amp. you might be a bit lacking on the extreme low end but quality is likely going to be a decent step up.
