OK everyone, I have a Toshiba Satellite C855-S5239P that I had issues with, so I completed a factory rest. The issues are still here. System lags to open any program, I have completed all the software updates (Microsoft, Video, Sound, Chip set and so on)

I have tested the memory with no found errors, I used crystaldiskinfo on the hard drive and it reviled that there was reallocated sectors with RAW values of 000000002260.

Is this the cause of the problem? There an issue with the CPU cooling fan not working properly. was late last year. However, I did replace it.

Playing a game like Star Trek online use to have no issues, now it lags horribly and has issues with the music in the game hanging. I have also noticed issues with downloading software or updates. It took a week to download the recommended 202 Microsoft updates.

Windows 7 O/S

Solution
This could cause performance issues.
It could affect loading times(games) and boot time(OS).
Also, it can cause in game stuttering when loading textures in open world games.

Hi there panfan32,

Well, unfortunately it seems that your HDD is failing. You really need to back up the data stored on it as soon as possible. It seems that there were around 2000 bad sectors that were reallocated.
The thing is that, you can't really fix that or stop the degrading process. At one point, the drive will just become unaccessible.

Let me know in case you have some more questions,

That's what I was thinking, but wanted some reassurance to this before purchasing a new Hard drive only to find out the Motherboard or CPU had issues. But so far all tests on the laptop are positive other than the Hard drive. Thanks for the assistance.

Not too worried about what is on the drive right now. Ill be creating a factory recovery disk from Toshiba and starting from scratch with the new drive once it comes in.
