I recently bought a new LG 2.1 300w sound bar, not realizing that my Emerson tv does not have an optical output. But my tv does have multiple HDMI outputs. This particular sound bar only has two methods of audio output: optical and auxiliary. I plugged in a normal auxiliary cord but I feel as if I'm not going to get the best out of this nice sound bar by only using an aux cord. My question is; is it worth it to buy an optical to HDMI converter or is simply just using the aux cord enough? Would there be a noticeable difference in sound?

does an hdmi to 3.5 mm jack exist? it might be possible but if you wont buy those you should throw you equipments to a garbage can :)

Your TV has HDMI inputs not outputs. If the TV has an HDMI input labeled ARC then you could use an audio extractor like this one. If not then there is now way to connect the sound bar through HDMI.

I would not worry about it though since your sound bar is not surround sound you may not notice any difference between the digital or audio connections.
