I have a woofer 10 inch 4Ohm 100W(~40W RMS). It is just normal woofer which I purchased for stereo home amplifier long back.
Now I want to convert it to subwoofer. I want to use it for my DIY 5.1 amplifier.
I saw in a shop where one person fitted the same speaker to a box which was little huge. But it was sounding great.
I need a perfect ported box design for this along with reflex hole size and length of insert.
Depth must be 5-6" maximum (Shallow rectangle type).

Please suggest best volume and dimensions.

You will need to know the full specifications for that exact speaker ( different makes and models can vary widely) then use a calculator something like this. http://

Thanks for reply.

I know this website. But it requires Fs, Qts which is unknown for this speaker.
It is made by some local manufacturer. So no details other than Impedance and Watts.

I dont need any accurate calculation for this. Just close estimation is enough.

Without knowing those parameters then the box won't work very well and especially with a ported enclosure which needs to be tuned to the resonant frequency in order to not to have booms at certain low frequencies.
All you could do is to try and find a similar speaker specifications and then insert those into the calculator and hope for the best.
