Possibility of "Frankensteining" a useful computer/other out of laptop components just laying about.
For example, I have an old laptop. It is one of those recalled HP DV9000 that has a dead motherboard. I'd like to reuse the components (screen and other intact parts) to create something cool. Basically I need ideas and\or instructions.

Thaks for your input! "#3. Salvage the Monitor" seems interesting. Since I have a case From an old Pentium 2 pc I'm thinking of finding an old motherboard or just strapping a raspberry pi to the D.I.Y. monitor. I want to mount this thing on a wall or mount it on something portable. and let people play with it. I want to use Zorin OS and have a spare 1.8ghz phenom II X64 Quad-core. And I've got spare ddr2 sticks.

So the question is : Rasp pi's best offering Vs. 1.8ghz phenom II X64 Quad-core for my Frankenstein. Thanks in advance!

Sincerely ("The Mad Doctor")
