I am looking to buy a laptop good for some games such as COD, first person shooter games and need for speed.. no low end chips 250-1TB HD, 3-4 USB ports. needs to have a DVD-RW, WiFi and card reader would be nice.. Willing to buy refurb if someone can recommend a good place. which brings me to another point if I buy refub I'd like to be able to buy a replacement battery as it's going overseas. Won't be able to use a warranty.. but I am buying in advance about 6 months so I'll have some time to load it up with programs she will need. and run it through the paces.. It needs to be durable, the kids will play on it as well... found this.. http://us.refurb.io/products/lenovo-thinkpad-t420-laptop-4gb-320gb-i5-2-5ghz but never hear of the place...Some one had posted about the Lenovo G50-80 but can't find that for less than 500 bucks.. I'd like to stay around 250... the kids will probably destroy it anyway. Thanks in advance!

She is a collage student so bigger screen would be best. for Microsoft office and spreadsheets, movie watching etc..

You really want a GPU to play games, not a CPU.
The CPU in your desktop is different from the one in your laptop, even if the model number says it's the same.

Don't take my advice the wrong way, i'm not trying to be negative, I'm just trying to be honest. sometimes the truth just doesn't match up with what you want to hear.

If the laptop fits your needs, great, I really hope you enjoy it and it's fully capable of playing your games.

You aren't going to get a laptop that can comfortably game with your budget.

Laptops are very expensive in terms of performance for your dollar.

The laptop you have linked is good for uni work and light web browsing, that's about it. it's not going to be able to game.

Expect it to play Minecraft on very low settings, even then it might still not perform all that well.

If you want gaming performance you're going to need much deeper pockets unfortunately.

Just bought LENOVO THINKPAD T420 LAPTOP, 4GB, 320GB, i5 2.5GHz, Windows 7 64-Bit, for 200 bucks. But thanks for your negative input.... I don't need USB 3.0 or many of the fancy knickknacks newer PC's may have. This has everything I need and it's the same processor my desktop uses. So I'm guessing it will play all the same games.

Right you are, but what you are unaware of the games that will be installed are the first COD and Halo they even play off of the flash drive. Nothing very graphic intense. This should do fine. I wasn't expecting a miracle for 200 bucks.
