My dell laptop it let's me log in but the screen is black what should I do

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then see if it would boot up normally.
- If it doesn't work, press CTRL + ATL + DEL all at the same time then then select Task Manager.
- Click on File and select New Task or Run New Task, once opened type in explorer.exe then press OK.
- If it would load your normal screen again open Task Manager again go to Startup tab and disable all your startup items and restart it.
- Do also a complete virus/malware scan just to be sure it's free from infection.
