I'm running a minecraft server in a different room in my house, and its a pain in the *** when i have to walk to the computer tp deal with any errors, is there any software to help manage the entire desktop (such as a team viewer for management that doesn't connect to the actual internet, just my network) I am currently using team viewer, but its really choppy so i want some suggestions please!

The software needs to be 32-bit and compatible with ubuntu 14.04, as well as windows 8.1.
