So I decided to upgrade my old laptop to a Samsung SSD without any research. It was fine until I decided to optimize it with the Magician software. Not sure exactly what the software does but perhaps some bios setting changes and not it won't POST. I've tried clearing cmos and re-seating a few hardware parts. I tried putting the old HDD in it also.

Asus A55v
MOBO: k55vd

TIA for any help.

Hi,

Up to what part does your laptop boot up? Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue..
- Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then see if it would boot up.
- If these doesn't work reseat the RAM, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly into each slot.
- Also do connect your laptop onto an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it because if you the problem may lie in display itself.
- If your laptop wouldn't boot up still that means it's a problem with the motherboard.

If your laptop would still show up to ASUS splash screen you can still do a complete factory reset or reinstall Windows. But if the problem is it's getting stuck on the ASUS screen you may need to remove the SSD first and see if it would get pass the Asus screen because if it does that means the problem is the SSD.

Thanks. I have done a hard reset and tried to connect to an external monitor and it still doesn't work. I've also re-seated the RAM and any component that I could easily take out. The power lights and hard drive lights come on.

I believe the problem is the motherboard. I believe the firmware is corrupted during the update. So my question now is, how do I flash a new firmware on without the ability to get into the bios? I have the .bin file.
